There are four important fashion weeks, often referred to as the “Big 4”: New York, Paris, London, and Milan. But what many may not know is that Paris is home to the industry’s first-ever organized fashion week.
Haute Couture Fashion Week aka Paris Fashion Week has come to an end. Did any of you ever wonder what Haute Couture means? Well, we went on a search for an accurate descriptive definition that sums up every aspect of it and so: “fashion that is constructed by hand from start to finish, made from high quality, expensive, often unusual fabric and sewn with extreme attention to detail and finished by the most experienced and capable sewers, often using time-consuming, hand-executed techniques.”. And not surprisingly, it is exactly what this week was. Every collection was unique in its own way. Overall there was much more diversity and variety than in any other fashion week. The message was clear, luxury is important!
But as we mentioned before, this week has been just a tad bit disappointing fur-wise. All those luxurious outfits, coats, gowns, and eccentric ensembles that were all over the runway were undoubtedly pieces of high fashion and expert craftsmanship. The fur was sadly a rare sight. Thankfully, the designers that did choose to implement fur in their collection did an excellent job at accentuating those aspects of fur that make us love it so much. Aside from the fact that it is the softest warmest material, it is fashionable, luxurious, and beautiful to look at.
Some of the best fur outfits were the work of various designers including Sonia Rykiel, Elie Saab, Albert Kriemler for the brand Akris, Ann Demeulemeester, and Tuomas Merikoski for Aalto, Dries Van Noten, Louis Vuitton, and several other talented designers that could only be described as artists. Their pieces were truly pieces of art, worth investing in.
One could never leave street-style outfits out of our highlights collection. As if the French need an excuse to dress luxuriously, throughout the entire February the streets of Paris were filled with eye-catching and effectively combined ensembles that you’ll see above, including two instances when Kendall Jenner was spotted wearing fur.

Final Thoughts on Fur at Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week
Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week once again confirmed that luxury lies in craftsmanship, intention, and artistry. Even though fur appeared more selectively than expected, the designers who embraced it did so with precision—highlighting its beauty, texture, and emotional impact rather than excess. From runway masterpieces to effortlessly styled street looks, fur proved that it doesn’t need volume to make a statement. For those inspired by couture-level detail and timeless elegance, investing in refined Real Fur Coats remains one of the most authentic ways to carry haute fashion beyond the runway.
